Easter People Part 3: Eyes Open
Join us in watching the third part of the Easter People series. In this sermon, Pastor Brett begins in John 9, where Jesus is in Jerusalem with John, and they see a man who was born blind. The disciples asked Jesus who sinned, the man or his parents, that he was born blind. The assumption in the first century was that there was a cause-and-effect relationship between sin and suffering, which was directly opposite to the compassion people show to those who are suffering. However, Jesus shifted the paradigm and said that the man did not sin, nor did his parents. Instead, the works of God might be displayed in him, and pain can have a divine purpose. Sometimes, God chooses to display His power on the platform of our pain and suffering.
